Family support from an experienced team

Your father's coming home from hospital on Friday. Who do you ring?

Home care, an emergency button, grab rails, power of attorney — all of it lands at once, usually on whoever picks up the phone. Your family support advisor tell you what’s available nearby, what it costs, and what to sort first. You’ll have a plan you can act on this week. We take no fees from care providers.

How we help in practice

Find care that's actually available

We ring the home care providers near your father and find out who can offer suitable services immediately – you get a shortlist worth ringing and advice on who to call.

Know what the State will pay for

The Home Support Service for care, the Housing Adaptation Grant for ramps and bathrooms, and Fair Deal for residential care. The supports are quite generous if you know how to navigate. We’ll help you make the most of what’s available.

Get everyone on one plan

The hospital says one thing, your sister another, and you’re three time zones away. Our family support advisors have decades of family care experience. We lay out the options in plain English and help you achieve consensus.

Safe is the start, not the finish

After the initial panic, the questions change. Social engagement, exercise and a sense of purpose can prolong independence and minimise care costs. We’ll help you maximise the potential.

Frequently asked questions

We work out what’s needed, what’s available near you and what it costs and suggest priorities. Most of it happens on Zoom or the phone. You’ll come away with a plan rather than a list of things to look into.

€150 per hour one-off or €100 if you opt for a monthly retainer. See pricing for details.

Same week, usually sooner. Ring or email and we’ll get it in the diary.

No. Families pay us and nobody else does. That’s the whole point — if providers paid for referrals, you’d never know whether a recommendation was for your benefit or theirs.

No. Plenty of people use us for one call at a crisis point and we never hear from them again. That’s a perfectly good outcome.

Common, and usually the real problem rather than the care itself. We’ll talk through how to raise it and what tends to work. If needed, we can get someone to call to the home to hear his concerns and reassure.

No, but we know great people that do. We’ll direct you to the best without taking a fee from them.
